Glaidus' Workshop (Open for future use)

The dwarf crossed his arms and looked at the kid. “You a miner?” he looked at him with the same slant eye look, the dwarf looked like he would be a tough man to fight dwarfs weren’t know for just making normal weapons. “if you are a miner have you done any deeds for my kind?” he was wondering if this kid ever lifted a finger for another race, but who knew what was going through this dwarfs mind.

Xantrex close his eyes then reopens them "I have not done any deeds for your kind. If it makes you feel better I have not done any deeds for any race including my own race." he told the Dwarf since he could sense this to be some kind of awkward situation. Xantrex didn't help anyone who didn't have something he needed to complete his own goal. Though he may not seem like it Xantrex has helped the women of all races since they are important to the world.

the dwarf shook his head in discrace. “you either need to help some one of my race around town. Or know a skilled enough person who can forge the metals from the mine.” He stood there looking at the skinny kid wondering why he hadn’t helped any one yet. But to each their own this dwarf turned his back to xantrex heading over to where there was a few iron ingots sitting from someone who had just came in and forgot them there.
(Escorting the injured miner is a quest that would qualify you to getting a writ or you need to show you at least know some blacksmithing knowledge. )

Remy enters the blacksmith's shop and asks the smithy about kunai. He settles on buying 10 of them for 200 gold and pays the smithy the 200 gold from the now 950 he had gotten from the barracks. After paying for them he heads out of the shop. He figures he should start going out and tracking that horse killer.

Entering the shop, Falabella looked around. Seeing Armor, Weapons, and tools everywhere, she started eyeballing the other types of weapons to see how usable they would be to her, but most of them were heavy and too large for her.

"Excuse me," she called out, not seeing where the blacksmith might be. "I have some weapons that need repair, if you're available." She took out 3 of her Damaging Needles, 1 that had broken through Tokara's armor after rebounded by the Horse Killer, and 1 that had come back at her and hit the 3rd one in her corset.

Alexi entered the shop when Falabella had asked about the weapons that needed repairing.  Alexi decided to be polite and wait until after Falabella was done and Glaidus was ready to talk to her.  She wondered if he would actually tell her about any places to mine or not.  Because of her appearance she wouldn't be surprised if he didn't tell her a thing.  After all, she definitely did not look like the mining type.  She did have some experience but not enough to be considered a professional or anything of the sort.

Glaidus looked up to her.  Aye, that would depend on the weapons that need repairing.  He then sees the weapons.  I watched some'a these get made here.  They'd be an easy fix, but if ya want a good fix I'd need some'a that metal it was made from.  He looks them over and then as if he could tell what it was with ease says, Kye-Ryong Eh?  Pretty good material that is.  I don't know that I have any in stock. That's not a very common metal. I can look, but it would be easier an cheaper for ya if ya have some on ye. If ya did I wouldn't have ta charge ya for material or the time to find the material.

Impressed he could tell exactly what kind of monster the weapons were made from, Falabella had to wonder if he could recognize any type of monster's metal. Probably as this was his life, but it still impressed her. She wondered if one day she may be able to tell all herbs that are in a potion by the smell... it was something to look forward to as she continued to learn.

"Sure, I have some extra metal," she says as she fishes out a 1lb ingot from her Bottoms Backpack. "If you have some left over could you just make some more of the same thing?.. maybe with a loop or hole at the end just big enough to fit a piece of thin fabric through. Thank you."

She hands him the ore and starts looking around again. There was quite a variety of weapons in his shop, and since she didn't wear metal armor, the weapons were what drew her attention.

Glaidus sets down his hammer and then takes the ingot and the needles from her. Sure, I can do that for ya. It shouldn't even cost much. he says before turning to Alexi. What do you want? It might be something that is easier for me to do while I melt down some of this metal. he says. This dwarf might look rough but he seems to be really kind. Of course as with most dwarves once you get on his bad side you stay there.



Alexi waits patiently and looks at the weapons when Falabella holds them out. She was pretty sure she'd never heard of Kye-Ryong metal before and wondered what it was. It made her think back to the Horse Killer that she had seen earlier. It started to get her thinking about the group that Falabella was with. They must be skilled if they killed the Horse Killer. Maybe later she could ask about joining them as a healer.

Her thoughts are interrupted by Glaidus asking her about what she needed. She looks to him and then says. I was just wondering if you knew anywhere I could mine around here. If you could tell me a place I would greatly appreciate it. says Alexi very politely.

Fala looked Alexi over, she really didn't seem like a Miner, but who was she to judge.  Maybe she had bigger muscles than she let on or something.  "I think my Tokara was planning on doing some of that also... after he goes to the Hospital if he knows what's good for him.  He's the main fighter and got a little hurt fighting that Horse Killer, thank God only a little.  We had a healer traveling with us before but she decided to stay behind in a different town, not that she could have fixed the broken rib anyways.  I wish I could heal but I'll have to deal with bandages."  

She stopped talking when she got distracted, she'd just spotted a strange weapon that she couldn't figure out what it was.  It was a small spiked ball... like a Mourning Star but without the chain or handle and it had small holes evenly spaced through it.  She dared not touch it, but she wondered how it worked as she kept looking around.

Glaidus sets some of the metal to melt and then goes over to a workbench covered in papers and pulls one out. He walks over to Alexi. Prove to me that yer strong enough to mine and you can have a writ of permission for a local mine. Says Glaidus looking at Alexi skeptically.

Alexi frowns and takes out her Pickaxe and unfolds it. She swings it a couple of times. She is far from being burly but then she says, And if I do get tired. I can always do this. Alexi concentrates and then opens her palm and the pickaxe stays hovering. She moves it a little via magic and then grabs it again. Truth be known that would take a lot more out of her than just swinging it manually but she didn't know what he wanted her to do to prove that she could mine. If little slave children could mine for coal then she sure could mine.

She couldn't blame the dwarf for being doubtful, but it bothered her as if it was her being doubted. Being looked down on because of her size was common enough that she'd had to prove herself able-bodied a time or two, and it never felt good... but the look of approval afterwards was always welcome... She hoped Alexi got that. The levitation was such a neat ability too, and apparently it had a few applications if she could mine with it as well as float around. She smiled at Alexi, at least she'd know that Falabella approved of her mining, whatever value that held.

Continuing to look around, Falabella kept seeing weapons that were more suited to someone of Tokara's size, but there were a few knifes and kunai laying around. She liked her Damaging Needles more though so she didn't even think about switching weapons.

Glaidus shrugs, I doubt that'd be practical but it's no skin off my nose. he says as he hands her the writ of permission. He then focuses on the needles.

Alexi does a little half bow thing and takes the writ. Thank you, I really appreciate it. She says as she then looks over to Falabella. If you need a healer I'd be more than willing to fill in. I can't guarantee I'd be good for much else though. I don't really have much of a work drive but I have nothing to do right now and would be happy to act as a healer for you and your party. She then thinks for a second about the people she had seen around the horse killer. The only people other than Falabella that had been around it that looked like they had recently travelled were the tall one and the one in the trench coat. Your group... Are they the really big guy and the guy in the trenchcoat? They're the only ones there that looked like they were fresh off from a journey.

Falabella looked Alexi over again, noticing just how pretty she really was.  *Uh oh...*  "Hmm.  I think it would be a great idea honestly, a healer of any talent would be awesome... only... maybe 1 little issue," she sighed and smiled at the same time, how to word this... "No romance or physical relationship between you and my Tokara!  He's more than a flirt and will come on to you with a vengeance.  He's everything to me and I will not have him taken away."  She was both smiling and serious but she thought that Alexi would understand... and if she thought that Tokara was Falabella's lover and not her brother... so much the better that she wouldn't tell her right away.  

"So yea, I'll ask Tokara but I don't think he'd have any reason to say no, he'd probably be thrilled and I like you so I'm happy with it.  And yea... he's the really tall one.  The guy in the trenchcoat's name is Remy, he just joined us as we were fighting the Horse Killer outside the city.  I'm not sure if he'll stay with us or not, but he was a lot of help with his abilities and it would be nice if he did.  He did odd things with playing cards, making it explode and turn into a smoke screen... was pretty cool..."

After hearing about the Falabella's concerns and about the group she smiles. Don't worry. I'm not one to engage in pre-marital affairs so I don't think that would be a problem. That and I'm not sure that I would want to.... deal with someone so big. I'd get a neck ache just trying to look him in the eyes. She says, innocent to the way that may have sounded. I'd like to see about joining the group but I want to go mine some first. Maybe we could meet at the inn later? asks Alexi.

Meanwhile Glaidus is off working on the needles still. It doesn't appear as though he is all that far from being finished with the needles.

Falabella, not being a totally pure person, had not missed what that sentence could have meant.  But seeing as Alexi seemed to not have thought of it, she kept her mouth shut...  no sense in making her think of something that Fala didn't want her to think of.

"I do get a stiff neck sometimes, but not so much when he lets me ride on his shoulders.  Meeting back up at the inn sounds great.  We've had a pretty busy day of traveling so far and we still have so many chores to do before we go do anything else... a night of rest sounds good.  You may even meet Tokara mining there if he gets healed up quickly enough."

Alright then. It was nice meeting you Falabella. I'm going to get to the mine now so it isn't too late when I get back. I'm hoping to mine some gems so I can make a little bit of a profit and then get into casting some enchantments. I'll see you at the inn later.

She then turns to Glaidus. Thanks again! she then left the building and headed towards the City Gate. She was lucky as the writ had a little map on it showing where the mine was.

Meanwhile Glaidus was just finishing the Needles. I've got a question for ye. There was a man that made some daggers and needles like these here and a large sword for a large man who was here with him who I got to have a fun little spar with. Do ya know these people? Glaidus seemed to have a reason for asking more than just making conversation but he was keeping the reason hidden for now.

"Nice to meet you too Alexi. See you at the Inn," she called out as her new friend walked out the door.  Listening to the Blacksmith's question, she realized he'd recognized the needles from what Sidney had made and actually remembered the people too... this man had a pretty good memory considering how many people probably came in to have weapons made.

"The man who made the needles was a friend called Sidney... and the tall man that you gave those chest wounds to was my brother Tokara."  She wasn't happy remembering that worry of seeing Tokara walking up to her bleeding.  But she knew he could have been hurt much worse than he was and it just goes to show the skill level of Glaidus that he only gave Tokara scratches when he could have done worse.  "Tokara and I just got back to town from a Quest.  He may be in to see you sometime soon to have some armor made from Horse Killer metal... I think... can't really tell with him what he'll do or when."

Glaidus smiles. That's why I let people use my benches for free you know. If it's something I ain't already made I take care to see how it's done. They get a free place to work an' I get to see the process behind their work. Your brother was a pleasure to spar with too. I remember that day well. It's not often that this ol' general gets to take up an axe these days. He then hands the needles to Falabella. That'll be 300 gold. He says. I ain't chargin ya for the repair and I'm giving you a bit of a discount on the new ones.

She was happy this man had enjoyed his spar with Tokara since Tokara always liked a good fight too. At the price he quoted her she was surprised. "Thank you so much. I really appreciate it." She took the 3 repaired and 3 new Damaging Needles MM and weaved them into her corset with the others. Handing him the gold she thanks him again and exits the blacksmith's shop. She still had many things left to do today before she stopped for the night at the Inn and she better get to it.

Upon trotting on a horse bareback with his dog in hand tokara made it to the blacksmiths. Unfortunately he needed a breather as the horse had trotted thumping and made tokara nuts hurt. Dismounting from the horse crackers wiggled out of his grip as he then leaned forward. “oh god my family jewels hurt... I need a saddle for this thing..” grunting as he walked funny in to the shop he looked around for the man in charge or well the dwarf. He walked up to a counter and put 50 ingots of monster metal down. Crackers was sniffing around the shop.

Ello there. Yer sister she says she was, was in here earlier with a female friend. It's good ta see ya again. What do ye want done with the metal? A metal cup perhaps? he asks with a chuckle. He waits for Tokara's response. It was good to see someone doing so well that had used his workbench. He then takes note of his sword but says nothing of it yet.

Tokara stood up straight and looked at he dwarf. “no need for a cup but I do need some chest armor and gauntlets made for me. I plan on going mining for a little while if you don’t mind I will pick it up later. “ tokara then noticed crackers was sniffing around and started howling but scared its self from howling. “what in the blazes dog..” tokara said as he went over and picked the dog up and set him in his bottoms pouch.

Alright, I'll have it done for ye later today. Come to think of it, that friend of yer sister's said she was going to go mining too. I gave her a writ after she showed some kind of magic off. If ya run into her there let me know how she was doing when ya get back. She didn't seem like the kind who would mine. says Glaidus who immediately starts getting to work. I'll get started on it if ye have no specific requests.

“here the ingots here they are monster metal from a bird I fought going out of town. I need to go check out this friend you was talking about.” tokara then gripped his swords hilt and looked at glaidus, moving towards the door and he noticed the horse was standing there waiting for him. “oh that right I need to deal with this horse..” he would climb up on the horse and look to glaidus. “one day I will challenge you again.” tokara would say as he road off to the stables.

Alexi enters Glaidus' Workshop and walks up to him. Hi again Glaidus. Thanks for that writ, between that writ and this other one I got to go deeper into the mine I was able to get a lot done.

Glaidus stares in amazement at the second writ. I'd say my first impression of you deceived me. Ya really can mine eh?

Alexi then takes all of the gems out before putting the Golden Star Sapphire back into the bag. I'd like to sell these 4 sapphires please. she says.

Again Glaidus stares in amazement when the star sapphire is out. He regains composure and takes the sapphires and gives her 8k. Thar ye go. Thank you.

Bye Glaidus! says Alexi as she leaves.
