Koroseta continues to mine waiting to find something good but she doesn't. So far all she finds is a ton more rock. This was where you could start to get down on what you were doing repeatedly mining rocks. Come to think of it 1 or 2 pounds at a time didn't seem like very much for a vein of iron, but beggars can't be choosers and for a free mine where you got to keep what you mined. She now can hear the mercenary having a regular conversation with a rough sounding dwarf.

Koroseta continues mining through more rocks. Now she was getting irritated with all of the rocks she was mining. Too bad she couldn't sell rock per pound for 50 or more gold a piece. She chuckles at the though of that and how many people would mine in that case. Suddenly she sees a glimmer of red. "A ruby!" she says excitedly. She tries carefully to mine it out like she had the sapphires before, but it does not work and it shatters. She goes back to mining after cussing at the shattered.

Koreseta continues mining. By now she was fully expecting to find more rock. To her surprise she got back into a couple of pounds of iron. She gets the two pounds which now brings the total of iron ore to 7 pounds. She puts it in the bag with the other 5 pounds of iron ore and gets right back to mining. This was hard work and it was testing her strength continuing on without taking any good long breaks, but Koroseta was the kind to push herself.

As Koroseta continues mining she gets back into some more iron ore. Around a pound this time making her total iron ore weight 8 pounds. She was now at almost 3 times the total iron weight she had found before. She then puts it in the bag with the other seven pounds of iron ore. She then goes back to mining the ore again. She can feel the soreness in her muscles from continuing with strong strikes. She can hear the mercenary with her talking to more random dwarves. He must be really bored but Koroseta didn't really care.

Koroseta continues mining and gets into a larger chunk of coal. It turned out to be around 10 pounds of coal. When she has it all mined out she looks over to the mercenary. "Can you please come over here and carry this coal?" The mercenary comes over and picks it up, "Sure." He then goes back to where he had been and starts up another conversation with another dwarf. Koroseta then goes back to mining as she has been the entire time she was here.

(The gem roll was a 1 which is a sapphire which as you know you can successfully mine.)

As Koroseta continues mining she gets into a rather large vein of coal. When she gets it mined out it totals about 20 pounds of coal. Then she sees the blye glimmer of a gem. She mines it out in a 5 pound chunk of rock. It's a sapphire and she puts it in her bag. Making it that she now has 5 pounds of rock with a sapphire in the middle and 8 pounds of iron ore. She again motions over for the Mercenary who comes over. "Want me to carry the coal again?" asks the mercenary. Koroseta nods and the mercenary picks up the coal. He is now carrying 30 pounds of coal. Koroseta then goes back to mining.

Koroseta continues mining, she was really happy to have finally mined a gem. Now in the mining trip alone she had been paid back for having hired the mercenary. As she continues she hopes to quickly find more iron, coal or gems. Unfortunately for her she did not find any right off, just layer after layer of rock. It was now that she started noticing that she could really use a shower after all the mining and blacksmithing she had done. She keeps mining.

Koroseta keeps on mining through layers of rock. She then gets into a bit of coal and then more. She manages to mine out another 20 pounds or so of coal. Again she gets the mercenary to come over and pick up the coal. He was now at 50 pounds of coal. At this rate they would have to leave soon. She then continues mining. It was a pretty fruitful trip so far with a value of 2130 gold and a total of 2980 gold which would pay for the 1500 paid for the mercenary.

Koroseta continues mining and is now back into the multiple layers of rock. For a second she thinks she sees a glisten of a gem but it was just a small quartz crystal in one of the rocks. As she continues she looks back to the mercenary. It appeared as though he was getting bored again. So long as he didn't let anything get stolen she didn't really care what he did. Koroseta couldn't keep mining at this pace for much longer, it was starting to really wear her out.

Koroseta continues mining through the rock and sees some silver. Again she tries to successfully mine it and again she fails. She then sees a sparkle of blue and mines out around the rock she sees it in and has another sapphire now that she puts with the other Sapphire and the 8 pounds of Iron Ore. She still wishes that she could avoid destroying the silver ore and bring some of that with her too as it was the most valuable ore that she had seen so far in this mine.

Koroseta mines through layer after layer after layer of rock. She is almost at her threshold of what she can carry and she is going to be having the mercenary carry 50 pounds of coal as it stood now. She figured she may as well mine until they are almost at their breaking points though. The mercenary was essentially a paid pack mule and an expensive one at that. With that in mind she refocuses herself on mining.
