Mendefera City Mines

Just outside of Mendefera this is on of their main sources of iron. It is a 2 post travel topic from Mendefera to the Mine. To mine it you need a writ from Glaidus. This is one of the safest mines as it is under guard. Every mining post roll the #1 and #2 dice once each.

Please keep mining levels in consideration as you need the proper level to mine the material even if you do find it. Also, rock gives no experience for mining.

If you land a gem roll wait for an NPC to tell you what you are mining.

Koroseta walks to the mine and shows the front guard a writ of permission. After looking at it he lets her in. She walks for a long time into the mine and finds a spot to herself cigarette in mouth. She isn't surprised to see the mine filled mostly with dwarves. She takes her folding pickaxe out and sets her gear to the side preparing to mine. She looks for a good spot to make the first hit and then picks it out.

Koroseta digs through rocks and has no luck in finding anything. She continues mining. She notices that the dwarves that pass by her are looking at her funny. She figures it is because of the cigarette she is smoking. Most miners were against smoking in the mines as if she ran into a gas pocket it could be dangerous. She hopes that sometime soon she will run into some iron and not just a ton of rocks. A sapphire would be nice too.

Koroseta continued mining and hit into more rocks. She wondered exactly how good this mine could really be so close to the city. So far she hadn't found anything encouraging. "More rock and nothing good in it. You've got to be kidding me. I wonder if this mine is even worth mining in." She takes a short break to tap her cigarette to knock the ashes off the end. She then goes back to mining hoping to actually accomplish something.

Finally Koroseta got into a couple of pounds of iron. After she gets it mined out she puts the 2 pounds of iron into her bottoms backpack. Sure iron ore wasn't worth a lot, but it could be made into something that was. She then goes back to mining hoping for more iron. Her hopes for this mine were restored a little after finding some iron. She figured she wouldn't find much other than iron or coal, but I guess you never really know now do you?

Now Koroseta hits a large vein of Coal. As she mines it out she talks to a passing dwarf offering him the coal she mines out. He accepts and by the time Koroseta is done she had gotten a full 20 pounds of coal out. She was happy to be done with it when she was. "Hopefully I'll get more iron." she says as she continues mining. The dwarf thanks her and then leaves. Koroseta wonders if there is anything else at all inside the mine.

Koroseta gets into some Silver and attempts to mine it but is unable to without damaging it and ruining the ore she mined through. She sighs and then continues mining. The most valuable ore that she had found so far and she ruined it. As she mines through she notices that there are dwarves giving her dirty looks for destroying the silver ore likely. She feels bad that she ruined the material, but at the same time figured that she wouldn't be able to learn without mining.

Koroseta mines continuing on. She finds more iron ore, 1 more pound to be exact and puts it in her bag with the other 2 pounds. She then notices a glimmer off to the side. 'A diamond!' she thinks. She tries to mine it but shatters it on the spot failing miserably. She looks around but luckily it appeared as though none of the dwarves had been looking. They would have been ticked off if they would have seen her destroying something so valuable.

Koroseta runs into more coal and does the same as she had done before giving it to a passing dwarf. Again she sees a shimmer of a gem, this time a sapphire. She tries to mine it and again breaks the gem. This was starting to get ridiculous and was starting to break her spirit. She decided to continue though. Ronsenberg's laundry was starting to look like a blessing compared to mining. It was an easier job and definitely paid better.

(odd how you got both rolls the same twice in a row. This time it's a diamond though, again not the level to mine it)

Koroseta once again mines through coal ore. Again she flags down a passing dwarf and gives him the 20 pounds of coal. She again sees a diamond and again tries to mine it. Agains she shatters it. The frustration was starting to get to her. At this rate she would break the whole cities gem supply. Luckily again no dwarves see her break the gem. She continues mining again hoping for iron not rocks or coal or anything else of the sort.

Koroseta mines through the rock. At this point she was just happy that she hadn't broken another gem. She continued mining through the rock. It was really amazing how much traffic went back and forth in the mine. She couldn't imagine the mine would last too long under the city with how many dwarves were mining it. Every now and then she would see a dwarf go by with some gold ore. It must be that somewhere in the mine there was gold.

Koroseta mines through more oreless rock. As she continues mining she decides that she would rather mine through basic rocks than smash priceless gems. It all seemed like a lot of work for little ore. Maybe they kept better ore further into the mine. It wouldn't surprise her the way dwarves could be with valuables, and with the gold, silver and gems that Koroseta was dealing with she was surprised they even let her mine where she was.
