At the barracks

Avril enters the barracks and looks around. She wonders which one of them would be the Captain. As she looks around she is surprised at how chaotic the guards seem to be. As she looks for the Captain she goes guard to guard asking if each one of them is the Captain. They probably would tell her which one was the captain if she would stay long enough after they told her that they weren't. After asking every single Guard, and some who weren't even guards, except for one if they were the captain she has one person that she hasn't asked yet.

The ground would feel like its shaking as a heavy set ogre walks in be hide the girl asking for the captain. “I hear your looking for me. I hope you have a token.” The ogre was tall but also rather fat from sitting at a desk for so long. Scratching his stomach as he looked the girl up and down, He could have sworn he had seen her before too. But his memory had failed him. He waited for her to present the token.

"You're the Captain?!" asks Avril surprisedly. She thinks for a second on how he looks like something the guard would fight against, not be led by. She then pushes the thought out of her head. "Yes I do!" says Avril excitedly as she holds out her token. "So what are you, hiring new guards or something?" She waits hoping that he says yes, but in reality that really isn't the type of life she should lead and it is probably pretty obvious to those around her.

Blorg would walk around here heading twards a pile of gear. “nope not hiring guards, due to the recent attacks by the elder dragon in this region the peace keepers have noticed a increases of monster attacks. This means the peacekeepers have their hands full with the dragon, also the guards of this city are shorthanded so we are recruiting people to learn to fight for them self’s. Mercenaries if you will, there are a lot of odd jobs the city guard and the peacekeepers can’t do. That’s where people like you come in. you’re not bound by city’s laws or continent. You’re doing this on your own free will you help your fellow beings.” The captain would then toss the girl a pouch of gold coins. Pretty much what he was trying to explain was they were forcing people to become their own heroes.

Avril goes to catch the coins but then drops them. She hastily picks them up. "You wouldn't happen to have any bows and arrows would you?" She asks hopefully. As she awaits his reaction she is secretly disappointed, after all, he had just stated that the City Guard were short handed. She is sure that he must have a bow somewhere and she sees one, but waits for him to get it for her because she doesn't have permission. She also hopes that there is something there that can protect her too.

blorg puts his hand to his chin and closes one eye trying to think. “Hmm you want a bow. Well we have a worn-out bow and a small quiver of arrows. As for you, look like you could wear these old mage robes and a pair of chaps.” He got her a pair of chaps and some musty mage robes. He put those items on a table for her then went and got the arrows and quiver.


“Just so you know why we aren’t recruiting for the guards is because this is a worldwide happening. People from all over are coming in. this is going to be a good way to also relive stress off some guards who patrol the roads.” He would sit down in a chair that kind of bowed in as he sat in it. he rubbed his chin thinking. "i wonder how other captains are handling this crisis. oh you can leave after you get your gear. there should be a shop open that you can buy some arrow heads at." giving her some advice as thise would be the only free gear she gets.

Avril looks at the gear. She can't help but notice how cruddy the gear is but beggars can't be choosers so she takes the gear with a smile. As for the Captain's response about why they weren't looking for guards, she supposed it made a little bit of sense. She responds to the Captain. "I'll do that, you never can have too many arrows." She then bids him goodbye and leaves, hoping that the gear would be good enough for her needs. She was excited to get back to doing good deeds but a little worried about the end result.
