Blue and the Barracks

Blue stumbled into the building that the civilians of the city had directed him to as the Barracks. He nearly crashed into a patrol of guards exiting the building as he examined the area, noting the layout of the various items and people inside. The boy was wondering where the Captain was, but didn't want to bother the already busy guards hustling and preparing for whatever was happening.
Blue stepped out of the way of a few more heavily armored people as he tried to find the Captain on his own. "If I was a captain, where would I be...?" he murmured to himself, scratching his head in thought as he peered closely at each of the people in the building, trying to decipher who was who.

A pair of eyes would dart out from the shadows as a very large ogre with quite the large gut come out. “Kid get out of here if you don’t have a token.” The large ogre stood there towering over the kid. Blorg was the captain in charge and really wasn’t pleased with the recruits coming in. but none the less the ogre began to scratch his rather large gut, his gaze on blue wondering if he really had a token or if he was just a lost kid. “Well hurry up and show me your token.” Blorg had many other rounds to get to.

Many of the guards went around captain Blorg because of his size. Then a guard came up to him with a document and he pulled out a small pair of glasses to read the fine print. “Captain this is a list of miners that have gone missing.” He nodded his head and waved the guard off, He would then turn is attention back to the small boy. There was a lot going on this day.

The teenager tilted his head curiously at the ogre, having only come across one of his kind before, and that encounter was not fun. He realized he was standing there awkwardly as the ogre stared him down, and introduced himself. "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm Blue Suzuki. I was told that I was being recruited to fight against monsters...?" he tried to remember the conversation with the man who recruited him. The captain was quite intimidating to him, looming over him as a child to an ant would. He rummaged around in his pockets for the token, and found it lying in his back pocket. Blue held up the token directly for the Captain to see. "Here you go!" he hastily exclaimed to the massive ogre.

“hmmmm” it was almost a deep growl in his voice, his gaze turning from the token to the kid. Reaching from the side he takes the token and breaks it in his fingers. Now he was testing the child’s galls. Taking a deep breath he would move away from blue, then he snapped back and let loose a loud ogre roar. He was seeing if the kid would piss his pants just from his roar. He knew if this child could at least somewhat stand his ground he would give him some credit. Most of the guards would all jump in surprise as blorg just let loose a well-known battle cry.

Blue was heavy in thought as the ogre broke the token. He didn't realize what was happening around him, as he had spaced out prior to the Captain's roar. This was lucky, because Blue didn't even notice that the giant man had done a thing, allowing him to not be phased one bit in terms of mentalality, still pondering over why there was an ogre there in the first place and if this conversation was going to end well, considering what happened last time Blue had encounter an ogre. However,t he boy finally snapped back to reality after the Captain had roared. He flew back into the wall behind him with a loud crash. "Um... could I please have equipment?" he asked the ogre cluelessly, not an idea of what had happened seconds ago, still shaken by the tremendous roar but unsure of the events around him.

Blorg just wiped his face as he saw the kid reaction. The kid didn’t even take a battle stance, this disappointed blorg. “You’re not going to last a week kid. But due to order from the peacekeepers I need to give you gear.” Walking past a pile of coin pouches he tosses it to the kid. Then walking to a pile of old gear he picks up a pair of worn-out leather chaps and musty mage robes. Then he picks up a broken long sword and sets all three of the items on a table. “This all we can give you. You can takes some of this to a worker in the districts some of them can upgrade the gear but not by much.” The green ogre started to play with his left K9 tooth. It meant he was in deep though but he was still aware of everything going on.
