Lesper stood outside of the cemetery, leaning against the black iron fence, gazing into the field of tombstones, and overgrown grass. It seemed there was no love for the dead. The love starts out so strong, but that love is so very painful. After a while, that love must go if there was to be any peace, or else that love would cause more death as a result. There was none who hated death more than Lesper. It seemed he could not escape it. Death followed him all over, people died all around him, and his essence was molded by death. Then death would ultimately take him in the end. He gazed into the graveyard, his eyes covered from view by his black hood and cloak. His face was motionless, emotionless, and less than social.

He turned from the graveyard and walked down the street in the dead of night. There were lanterns here and there on the corners but he was mostly unseen by passers by. He was starving. If there was anything that could take his mind off of death, it was food. He wanted to save his coin for more important things, so he figured he could find a farm if he walked outside of town far enough. The streets were empty so far before sunrise, the goods shop wouldn't be open quite yet, and for the fourth night in a row, he couldn't sleep.

He sighed, then stopped in a large crossroad. It was four ways, and Lesper looked all around himself, beyond the buildings and the mountains that surrounded the land. Where to now?

As the night went on and the young man looked around. A small blue flame came out from around a corner as a guard could now be seen. The blue flame sat on the left shoulder of the guard, it illuminated the area around him with a soft light as he then turned to see the hooded child. He walks up to him with the loud clanks coming from his armor.

Soon he was upon him and the dull blue flame lite them both up. the flame came from a gem on the left shoulder plate. he looked down at the boy as this guard was a seasoned one with scars lining his face. "you if you can walk around at night then you can head to the barracks and join the fight against the overflow of monsters." he said the taking out a token he holds it out to the child. unfazed by the aura of death around him. "Or you can join the guard ranks." he said waiting for the child to take the token.

Lesper took the token from the guard. He knew where the barracks was, but he frowned at the thought of going to the guard's base. He rather stayed away from the authority figures as much as he could. Still, he didn't want to make anyone mad, and he figured it wouldn't hurt to get some extra supplies to defend himself from whatever lies beyond the city.

"Thank you, I will do that." Lesper nodded to the guard and turned toward the barracks to walk away. He wasn't that far from the barracks, and it didn't take him long to find the place with the most light source and activity. The young elf showed the token to the outside guards so that they would grant him passage to the equipment issue.

"A guard has told me that I am to join in the fight against the impending trouble that threatens these parts. Is this the equipment issue facility?" Lesper asked, his hood showing his eyes slightly, but hiding his other features other than his lower face.

Becuase it was early morning there was little staff awake, but in the back stood a women with one arm looking over a map. Her face was covered in recent wounds as she looked pissed. She looked up and saw the small fry of a person asking questions. "What do you want. Are you another one of those people with a token..." she looked rather irritated, mostly because the peacekeepers where getting load of people flooding in to the barracks it was hard to find out if any one was signing up for the guards any more. That and many where just coming in for the coin and buying booze to drown their worries.
