Time for some Scouting (Mission, Traveling Topic)

Saori would have just left the city of Humus after receiving a top priority mission from a Captain known throughout the stronghold of Mendefara as Sir Robison. Though his boastful humor was dark at best, his skills greatly outweighed his hardy exterior. Just recently passing the gates, her appearance was quickly swallowed whole by the encompassing darkness created by the shroud of trees before her.

Dashing, she began running over the fields of flowers and overgrowing grass. Many things here seemed to grow at exceedingly quick rates, though this was to be expected in a part of the continent influenced so heavily by rainfall and proper photosynthesis from plantlife. Momentarily stopping at a boulder pass, mountains could be seen for miles around, and trees even more so. Preparing a Dark Magic incantation, she would be ready to unleash a Dark Magic spell at any time. Such was the expected lifestyle of an assassin or mercenary in training. Light feet was important.

The channelization of Dark Magic was still there, though her agility allowed for swift movement despite her eyes studying the grasslands which surrounded her eloquently. The failing sunshine above sent a radiating signature of beauty, casting a fashioned facade upon the grounds below, enveloping the lands in great elegance. Though with the beauty nature beholds, it is also a curse in hiding.

Many things.. Oh so many things could threaten to kill or destroy Saori. This was a fact she knew very well, though never truly compensated for up until she was old enough to fend for herself and be completely capable of killing. Though she wished her father was still alive to see her evergrowing accomplishments, it was the death of him that has directly influenced her capabilities.

Saori continued onward after a momentary ten minute brick, forwarding her journey with a keen jump over a boulder. Upon landing, she quickly regained her stability and dashed toward a clearing covered by a mountainous pass. As she reached the dusted pathway, she took the map given to her by Captain Robison out and gently unfolded it, scanning it for movement possibilities and ease of travel without the possibility of cutthroats, highwaymen or even natural disaster areas where falling boulders or avalanches of rocks could have occurred. She wasn't prepared to die yet.

A disquieting sense of irritation awakened the girl after about an hours time rest. Before she had truly departed that amorphous place between dreams and reality, she reached out with her long, elegant fingers and felt for the Earth she slept on. All it took was a small, feather-like caress. "Good.. I didn't die while asleep." She'd murmur, laughing to herself on the inside but portraying a straightforward emotionless demeanor on her face.

By the time she had fallen asleep, she had just finished walking through the gigantic mountain pass previously mentioned. Though it was recommended as a safe route, there were always problems present in the wake of the night. Prowling creatures, bandits or even the chance of a dragon attack was probable, though practically impossible. She continued walking, the Dark Magic coursing through her palms allowed for quick reactions.

Saori continued onward, an everlasting journey to find the location of an assassination groups headquarters, or hideout. Blood Bay. The name sounded attractive, sure, but shit, she could very well be spotted and die out here. Regardless of the situation at hand, she needed to be sure of herself in order to succeed. It was high time she stepped up to the plate her father left on the table at the time of his death.

Fighting the struggle to stay alive throughout the course of her life, the moments of her discovery of her fathers lifeless, mutilated corpse always replayed in the recesses of her darkened mind. However, her eyes never shed a tear in sorrow or loss. Only in hatred and passion for vengeance on those who committed such a thing. And her focuses were set on meeting the goal to finally locate and kill off that son of a bitch Athras.

Saori thought it was finally time for a little break, after a rigorous few hours of constant walking, observation and studying the surroundings. She felt no immediate lethal presences in the vicinity so she figured it best to simply sit down and rest. Her hand lay on the sheathed daggers, pulling them from their pouch. Picking up a rough leaf, she rubbed it onto the blade, shining and polishing it with the water condensed into its veins.

Wiping it down with a small cloth torn from the bottom of her leather chaps, the blades began to illuminate in accordance with the gleaming sunshine above. It had now been two days since she left the guarded boundaries of Mendefara, the Capital City of Humus. Unguarged, not being escorted and undergeared, Saori could have very well been a sitting duck in the wild. Though she hoped her training and skills would overcome such trials should the opportunity arise.

((The 6 sided weighted event type roll led to a 2 which is a good event. The 6 sided weighted good event type roll led to a 5 which is a skill/stat train. The 20 sided skill/stat train roll led to an 11 which equals health.))

As Saori sat there a high pitched quiet voice cried out to her sounding as though it was coming from a bush a short distance away. "Hey, Listen! I need your help. If you help me I will return the favor." Looking to where the sound was coming from one could just make out the form of a fairy stuck in a spider's web. "The spider is dead but I cannot get out on my own!" said the fairy as she strained to free herself to no avail.

Saori would have been sitting quietly when her ears caught wind of a screaming fairy, prompting her to quickly hurry over to the humanoid creature. Taking her daggers in hand, she quickly delivered a series of cautious slashes, effectively cutting the web apart and freeing the fairy from its sticky clutches. Surprised, Saori looked at the fairy and inspected her for any possible wounds.

"Are you okay, Fey?" She seemed genuinely interested and tried her best to help the fairy in case there was an injury which could influence the outcome of life or death for the innocent creature. Smiling, she'd look at the Fey and promptly speak. "I'm glad I was here when you needed me. The odd thing is I took this path completely by accident.. But I guess it turned out for the better." She'd laugh lightly, still trying to gauge the condition of the fairy.

The fairy flies into the air a little and then does a twirl mid-air. "Why yes, thanks to you I am just fine!" She then flies over Saori and waves her hand. A trail of sparkles follows it and slowly fall down over Saori and a light while glow can be seen over Saori's skin. Though Saori may not feel as though anything happened there would be an effect from it. The fairy then giggles and says "THANK YOU!" as she flies off.

Saori would be momentarily shocked by the sheer speed of the fairy. I guess the wings had alot more purpose to carry her light bodyweight and enabled flying faster an easier achieved goal. Wings would be cool, which would have prompted the death of the fairy, though Saori went against it. She smiled and waved as the fairy flew off. The trail of sparkling particles had just dissipated into nothingness.

As she turned toward a second mountain pass, she continued onward, relieved that the cry wasn't because of someone getting mauled to death by a gigantic sabre toothed cat. Boy, that would have been horrendous and a bad thing for Saori. She knew herself she couldn't take a creature of that size on.. But a person is a different story.

Night began to fall again, marking the third day of her travels toward her destination near Sidewind Pass. She figured she might have almost been there, though as she came over the slope of a mountainous structure, there was still a stretch over the course of miles upon miles of walking to do. Mountains here, slopes there, meteor impact craters over there.. It was a mess. Though a beautiful mess. Like Saori (HEHE).

She figured it may be a good idea to rest easy for a bit, being as though she was on a flatland plateau high enough that an enemy might not see or detect her. Taking advantage of her distance and sight capabilities, she sat on a nearby rock after laying a thin, but sufficient loincloth over it to provide comfort to her bottom. Taking out her daggers, she held them tight in hand in case of a surprise attack.

After a nice and easy night of resting, Saori awoke, stretching her muscles and quickly sheathing her daggers after standing up, being as though they had been in her hands all night. You could never be too careful, especially in the wilds. Saori knew this fact all too well from living in the heartland of Atrum. Beasts there flocked more wildly than the mountains present in Humus.

Jumping, she'd gather enough force and stability in her feet to slide down the slope of the mountain, effectively landing on the ground with a roll, standing back up momentarily as her feet clutched a rocky surface, allowing her to push herself up from the barrel roll. Looking around, she kept one hand on her dagger, surveying the area in case of immediate danger. The other hand prepared a Dark Magic spell.

The area seemed clean of any immediate danger, though the looming threat of a falling boulder caused by the movement of Saori sent out an echoing crash as it repeatedly smashed against the mountainous surface she had just slid down. The slope provided the boulder with impressive speed, though Saori, having the ability to sense things in an immediate vicinity through a form of echolocation provided to her by her oversized ears, quickly dove and dodged the falling rock.

Breathing slowly trying to calm her heart rate, she stood from her knelt position, looking at the boulder. It could have easily flattened the elf like a pancake. She was thankful that she had such a good grasp on ecological empathy traits. Growing up in the forests of Atrum truly did have its benefits. Briefly looking at the map, she chose the best route to follow, and continued onward.

The mountain pass she chose, though rugged at best, actually seemed to be fruitfully alleviated from the threats of falling boulders, as it seemed to be practically carved by the forces of nature due to affects like erosion. It seemed that this mountainous canyon might have actually been a large, flowing river, probably hundreds or possibly thousands of years ago. Though dried up now, she found a spring nearby at the end of the pass and drank from it.

Wiping her mouth of the translucent liquid, now refreshed, she stood from her crouched position and checked the map once more. Judging by the distance traveled, she figured she was actually almost there. It was probably only another two or three days before she reached her destination. Following suit, she continued, heading toward a large grassland covered in flowers. Luckily, she wasn't allergenic, or the pollen may very well screw with her. A hand on her dagger at all times, she prepared for the best.... Or the worst.
